The first words you'll probably hear when you arrive in Aruba are "Bon Bini!" Bon Bini means welcome, and you'll hear this phrase used frequently by the friendly and accommodating Arubans. English is also spoken throughout the island

Although Dutch is the official language of Aruba, the colorful local language is Papiamento. Want to learn a few phrases of Papiamento? You're sure to be a hit in Aruba if you do.

Banking Hours: Weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some banks close during lunchtime (12:00 - 1:30 p.m.)
It is a law that all change be given in Aruban Florins, so please don't insist on U.S. coins when you pay for something in U.S. currency. The only exception is in the casinos, where they'll gladly give you all the U.S. coins you want to gamble.

Shopping: Don't plan on shopping on Sundays - stores are closed.
Most stores open from 9 am to noon and from 2 pm to 6:30 pm, although some remain open between noon and 2 pm. Monday through Saturday.
